Colonel Adam Susman – Israeli Defence Attaché to Canada

Born in the UK, Col. Susman moved to Moshav Sde Nitzan in southern Israel at the age of three. He joined the IDF Givati Brigade in 1987 and went on to become a battalion commander in the brigade, after serving as the head of the Anti-Ballistic branch and the head of the training branch. In 2005, he was appointed to the commander of “Hanegev” infantry brigade and the Chief of Staff of the “Sinai” division, protecting Israel’s southern border. In 2009, Col. Susman became the commander of the “Dan” district in the Home Front Command, ensuring the safety of the civilians in the Tel-Aviv metro area. Prior to his appointment as the Defence Attaché to Canada in July 2014, Col. Susman was the Head of the International Military Cooperation Department in the IDF General Staff. He currently resides in Ottawa with his wife, Liat, and their three children: Lior, Roi and Nadav.
