Located in the Negev region’s capital city of Be’er Sheva, the Ilanot elementary school serves the needs of Arab, Bedouin and Jewish children coping with low cogitative skills and severe motor impairments. Adhering to a motto that every human being has the right to a high quality of life, school officials are committed to seeing their 109 students grow into functional adults. At present, the school’s infrastructure is quite outdated and lacks proper recreational facilities.

The construction of a modern therapeutic schoolyard will create a stimulating environment where students may develop their motor and cognitive skills while also fostering emotional growth.

Apart from renovating the entire entrance area to improve its overall safety and accessibility, other elements of the project include installing adapted playground equipment and large overhead canopies to shield children from the intense desert sun.
